World’s leading EV maker BYD of China is on the verge of stepping into the Netherlands. The company has appointed Louwman Group as its national dealer partner marking an important phase for BYD as it continues to expand its eco-friendly electric passenger vehicle business in European markets.

Louwman will offer a digital platform for online ordering, customer service and assistance, and also provide both offline sales and after-sales services for BYD passenger vehicles through its huge dealer network at key locations across the Netherlands. Several physical stores will be opened at key locations in the Netherlands, starting with Amsterdam. From September, customers will be able to visit the pioneering store in Amsterdam and review BYD’s latest models.
BYD, which recently surpassed Tesla becoming the largest NEV maker of the world has more than 27 years of experience in battery research and development, BYD is globally renowned for its pioneering technology and world-leading innovations in eMobility solutions across all types of transportation, including electric buses, trucks, vans and passenger vehicles. BYD is also the only NEV producer to have developed its own powertrain systems, batteries, automotive semiconductors, drive-motors and motor controller systems.

Empowered by leading technologies such as the Blade Battery and e-platform 3.0, BYD has reached a new milestone with sales of new energy passenger vehicles exceeding 2 million units. To date, BYD is the first & the only automaker to fully stop the production of combustion engine vehicles and focuses on battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) only. This strategic decision supports BYD’s vision for a sustainable future, driven by electrification for a better life, underpinning its core brand proposition: Green·Technology·Future.

BYD Tang EV in Norway
This is an important milestone for BYD to penetrate into the European markets. BYD has already established its presence in Norway, after which it had focused its sights on the Benelux region, which includes Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxemburg. While Louwman will be the national sales partner for BYD in the Netherlands, the Chinese EV maker is looking to ink a deal with Inchcape to cover Belgium and Luxembourg markets. The company is already expanding its wings in RHD markets such as Thailand and Australia where its marketing its vehicles under Atto nameplate.
